Ballater & Crathie Community Action Plan
The Ballater & Crathie Community Action Plan sets out our shared vision for the future of our villages — building on our strengths, responding to local needs, and shaping a thriving, sustainable and inclusive community for generations to come.
Developed by the Ballater & Crathie Community Council in collaboration with community organisations, partners and residents, the plan reflects the ideas, priorities and aspirations voiced across our community. It recognises our rich heritage, our strong visitor economy and our remarkable resilience — from recovering after Storm Frank to adapting to the wider challenges of climate change — and looks ahead to the opportunities and decisions that will shape life here in the coming years.

The Community Action Plan is a practical roadmap for improvement and investment, built around clear priorities including recreation and social life, our environment and resilience, local economy and jobs, community support and wellbeing, affordable housing, and independent and assisted living. It is a working plan: ambitious yet realistic, designed to evolve, and intended to empower the whole community to play a part.
